Send us a report
If a SteadyLink link is serving malware, a phishing page, a scam or anything else harmful, email [email protected]. Please include the link, what you saw it do, and any evidence you have, such as a file hash, a sandbox or antivirus report, or the message the link was sent in. You don't need an account, and we read every report.
Don't open or run a file you think is harmful just to check it. The link and a short description are enough for us to investigate.
What to report here
- malware, including installers, scripts and archives that drop or download something harmful
- phishing pages and files that try to trick people into entering passwords or payment details
- scams, spam campaigns, harassment, and files that expose someone's personal data
- child sexual abuse material, which we remove and report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children
Copyright complaints follow the DMCA process in our Terms of Service and go to [email protected]. Security problems in SteadyLink itself are covered on our security page.
What we do with a report
We look at every report as quickly as we can, and when a file is clearly harmful we block its link first and finish reviewing after, so nobody else gets it while we look. Blocked files stop serving everywhere, including copies cached at the edge.
Accounts that host malware or phishing are suspended. We keep the files and records as evidence, and an address that has been suspended can't be used to sign up or sign in again. Where it helps protect people, we share what we find with the providers hosting the rest of an attack, with security researchers who track malware, and with law enforcement.
How we keep harmful files off SteadyLink
Every upload is scanned for malware and checked against lists of known malicious files before its link serves it. Programs and scripts on new free workspaces can't be shared by public link during the workspace's first week, since that is where most abuse starts. Paid workspaces aren't affected, and the owner can still download their own files.
If your file was blocked by mistake
Scanners sometimes flag safe files. If one of your files was blocked and you think it shouldn't have been, email [email protected] from the address on your account with the link, and we'll take another look.
