Vector artwork becomes pixels

SVG describes shapes, so it stays sharp at any size. GIF stores a fixed grid of pixels. Set an image width in the converter settings that matches where the GIF will be used, because enlarging it later will blur it.

Limited to 256 colors

GIF stores at most 256 colors per frame, so photos and smooth gradients can show banding. It suits simple graphics where compatibility matters most.

Resize in the same step

How do I control the size of the GIF?

Open the converter settings and enter an image width. Pick the largest size you need, because a GIF cannot be enlarged later without losing sharpness.

Is the SVG to GIF converter free?

How long are my files kept?

Guest uploads and results are deleted automatically after 1 hour. Conversions stay temporary when you are signed in too, unless you save a result to your workspace.
